Our Partnership in Action

CAPP’s familiarity with each union’s apprenticeship test allows us to emphasize certain parts of the curriculum when necessary. For instance, participants scheduled to take a more algebra-intensive test may be assembled together for appropriate preparatory training. Understanding the expectations of our employment partners gives CAPP participants the opportunity to prepare and oftentimes exceed expectations. Throughout the course of the program, our employment partners come and speak to the participants about what is required, what is expected, and to answer any questions they may have about the trade or position.

Additionally, we meet with our employment partners at least quarterly to discuss their respective apprenticeship process, current recruitment plans, and to review any test prepping materials. These materials are used to help develop our curriculum to prepare a student for any particular test.

Some employment partners assist with employment through their General Contractor and/or subcontractors and other strategic relationships. Employment is the most crucial part of the process. It is not enough to just complete the program; job employment is necessary to embark on a career. CAPP is focused on building a strong foundation for long-term economic growth, business development, job creation, and public policy that requires a well-prepared workforce.
