Mr. Walter McGill
Founder of CAPP
Walter McGill, CAPP’s founder, was a larger than life personality, who brought his remarkable passion, experience, and energy to CAPP’s Mission. He wanted to introduce the building trades to those who are unaware of the ability to support their family, have full benefits, get paid top dollar, have a pension, and a retirement package just from learning a trade. So, he created an education program addressing the employment disparity existing in the construction industry.
“Uncle Walt” as so many of us liked to call him, had over 40 years of experience and relationships that he had built in this industry before his passing. It is only because of the foundation that he has built for us, that we can honor his memory by dedicating ourselves to continuing the work he loved so much.
Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know, work with, talk to, or hang out with Walt have lost an uncle, a dear friend, and an inspiring mentor. His spirit will forever be the foundation of CAPP.
Walt’s vision for CAPP will be continued by Ms. Kylee Pickens, the Executive Director and her ever growing dream team of dedicated staff. We are grateful for the support and kindness of those who share our feelings for Walt.
