What We Do
The CAPP program curriculum is a comprehensive 16-24 week process designed to equip participants with the essential skills for success in the construction industry.
Our Curriculum Includes:
- Workforce Development Training: Cultivating essential soft and technical skills.
- Test Preparedness: Intensive preparation for union apprenticeship exams.
- Resume Writing & Mock Interviews: Building confidence and readiness for employment.
- Employment Support: Direct assistance in securing job placements.
- On-the-Job Training/Seasonal Employment: Opportunities for practical experience in some cases.
Union testing occurs year-round, and our test preparation adapts to this schedule, offering continuous curriculum review and trade-specific tutoring throughout the year.
Our Approach
CAPP recently instituted a virtual hybrid method of class facilitation, with prep classes taught virtually three weeks out of a month and in-person for one week. Our cohorts maintain high levels of focus on individual needs, resulting in high success rates for advancement into union apprenticeships
Program Recruitment
CAPP utilizes its professional relationships and interacts with companies such as workforce development agencies, community groups and religious organizations to identify individuals who meet the basic requirements for entrance into an apprenticeship program.
Student Screening
CAPP and/or the sponsoring agency will interview the candidates that have been recruited for the Program. Candidates possessing sincere interest, math skills, appropriate experiences and a valid drivers license offer the best opportunity to successfully complete the Program and gain admission into a Local Union.
